Strictly 2022: Week 9 Results show

Strictly made a welcome return to Blackpool last night – but that will be the end of the tram line for someone…

As is tradition with Strictly Come Dancing‘s annual visit to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, whether it’s that seaside air or the altitude of Level 3 on the Tower, the Judges went giddy with the high scores. Fleur and Vito got the first perfect 40 score in the series. In fact, Craig, Motsi, Shirley and Anton only needed to pack 4 paddles each, with 7 being the lowest score awarded on the night.

The Judges put Ellie & Johannes at the bottom of the leaderboard, followed by Kym & Graziano. But we know from the past weeks, a tie at the middle of the leaderboard can often mean a shock drop to the dance off. Will, Molly and Tyler were all clustered in the middle with the same 35 score. So what will the public decide?

But we have the nasal-vocal stylings of Eurovision yodeller Sam Ryder accompanying the very-populated group number. Ironically singing a song called The Voice not that well…

In the bottom two…Molly & Carlos. Their performance had the double whammy of back-up dancers getting in the way AND bad camera work. It also can’t have helped that they followed perhaps the frontrunners Hamza & Jowita.

What have we done to deserve double Sam Ryder? Smiley pop is BACK!

On the other couple in the Bottom Two is….. Tyler and Dianne. This is going to tight!

But HOLD THE FRONT DOOR the headline is The Recs finally predicted both couples in the dance off!

Why did Tyler West go?

At this stage of the contest, none of the celebs left are terrible dancers so the public are going to be voting for couples that have something extra – whether that’s exciting / memorable routines, great chemistry between the celeb and their professional partner or maybe they can see improvement and want that to continue.

For whatever reason Tyler and Dianne just weren’t getting that support from the public. His dancing had plateaued rather than showing improvement. They had been in the Bottom Two last week with a more dramatic vote-winning dance so it perhaps isn’t a surprise that they are leaving this week.
