Strictly 2022: Week 8 Results show

With Strictly, you learn to expect the unexpected – but we didn’t see this ending coming…

Strictly always does a moving group number on Remembrance Sunday and this year was particular beautiful. Isn’t it refreshing to see some proper ballroom with proper costumes.

Blackpool, Blackpool, Blackpool – is next week Blackpool? They could have mentioned!

Tyler was a bit of a surprise to be in the Bottom Two despite some fabulous pec display. While he is a good dancer, there’s something a tad mechanical about his dancing and he has stayed on the same level rather than improving.

Music tonight came from Shake and Vac Sheku and Zak with a song that you could quite easily enjoy a Nana nap without disturbance.

And in the bottom two….Tony and Katya. There seemed a bit of an inevitability of it. There’s only so far you can get on tricks and good will.

But then the shocker – having to withdraw due to an injury. What a decent man. Particularly enjoying him talking about the “journey rubbish”.

Why did Tony Adams go?

Even without his injury, it’s unlikely that Tony would have won the dance off. Turns out that the Daily Mail’s story of an Arsenal fan group arranging for an unstoppable block vote wasn’t true.

To Tony’s credit, he gave it a go. Not the most natural mover, he still threw himself in to all the choreography that Katya sent his way. And you can’t say his dances were boring or bland (unlike some other contestants).

He certainly brought a lot of fun to the Strictly dancefloor – and we are happy to see him leave before we start losing celebrities who actually have a chance of winning.
