Furiozo: Man Looking for Trouble ★★★★★

A true artist in his own right, award-winning polish clown Piotr Sikora brings his previously sold-out clown show to Edinburgh Fringe. Furiozo, a grunting, angry and hooliganistic man with a heart of gold, searches for trouble and finds it as well as love and friendship with his audience, in this highly interactive piece of clowning theatre.

Wearing yellow and black wrestling shorts and a silver chain, a shouting angry bloke with a skinhead comes crashing into the scene, attacking a teddy bear whilst simultaneously earning consent from the audience. From the moment he runs onto the stage, it is clear the audience are in for a wild ride.
A game is created, as Furiozo asks for permission to break the rules, and the audience, through nods and smiles or thumbs up, allow it. You find yourself willing him to embark on his search for thrill and excitement through petty theft, drug-filled all-night raves, a prison break, police chases and the biggest risk of all: finding true love.

Furiozo creates plenty of opportunities for audience participation. Though this would usually be a cause of anxiety for anyone that catches the eyes of the performer, full of the fear of being brought up on stage, the ingenious way in which Furiozo brings his audience on side, has you feeling like a friend and willing him to catch your eye and include you in this giant game of rule breaking and spoof criminality. He has clearly honed the ability to understand his audience 100% and is able to seduce them into his own self-inflicted trouble through romance and displays of tenderness.

Furiozo will have you laughing with the man you would usually cross the street to avoid. You will love him and you will hate that you love him for an hour. You will live in the presence of the beast and in Furiozo’s words Live fast die. An absurd and fantastic contemporary take on toxic masculinity. Totally worth the hype.
