Strictly Come Dancing announces Will Mellor as the first contestant for 2022 – The Recs takes a wild guess how he will do!

With Strictly Come Dancing launching in just 35 days time (Wed 7 Sept), we have our first Strictly contestant announced. And the first for The Recs to weigh up their chances.

Acting in Coronation Street, Broadchurch and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

Had a short-lived crack at a pop career in 1998 with his cover of Leo Sayer’s When I Need You inexplicably getting to #5 in the Singles chart. The video (click HERE to watch) was filmed in pouring rain which was appropriate as the song couldn’t be any wetter!

Will graced the walls of many a girl / gay boy as a shirtless pin-up. Post the pics you say? The Recs wouldn’t be so cheap… sorry? pardon…oh apparently we are that cheap. Here you go. 

Previous dancing experience?

Will be in the final third of Strictly contestants. Well that’s our prediction. He’s not exactly a shy, retiring wall flower. His Children-in-Need strip proved performing doesn’t faze him. And he has the kind of cheeky, down-to-Earth charm that did Chris Ramsay so well in 2019.
