Disney + has launched its new channel Star today – sourcing films and TV series from 20th Century Studios, 20th Television, ABC and Searchlight Pictures to provide more adult-focused content.

However many subscribers have been clicking on Star and finding many promised titles missing. If this is you, The Recs is here to help with our step-by-step guide how to access all films and TV shows on the new Disney Plus strand.

Our Step-by-Step Guide to access all Star content

With the addition of the adult-orientated channel, Star, Disney has changed parental control settings.

Which means whether you have kids or not, your Disney Plus profile will automatically be set as 14 + – meaning that you will only see titles that are suitable for audiences aged 14 and below. Even if you use the Search function, films and shows intended for the older viewer will not appear.

To access these, you’ll need to change your profile – and here’s how:

  1. Click on your profile pic in the top-right corner.

2. Select Edit profile.

3. Select Content Rating in the Parental Controls section.

4. Move the slider down from 14+ to 18+ and save the change.
