Enter the World of Property Porn

Find the best sites to indulge your addiction to having a mooch around the very most desirable properties!

If you would love nothing more than a nosy inside some of the country’s most desirable properties, ones that you could only dream of affording then basically, in clinical terms, you’re a Property Porn addict!

In which case, you’ve come to the right place. The Recs has some fantastic recommendations for the very best sites to get your regular property fix.

The Modern House

Specialising in design-led homes, The Modern House always has a wealth of fascinating properties for sale all over the country and from many different eras. From a Modernist apartment in High Point London to a windmill conversion in West Sussex, this site has plenty of drool-worthy, often eye-wateringly priced properties to enjoy and dream of owning.

These property pages are clean and easy to navigate and have plenty of high-quality pictures. Particularly good are their floor plans which are detailed and can be opened into another tab, making it easy to match the photos to the plan before you decide to make an imaginary offer!

Savills

Savills are an international Estate Agent founded in the UK in 1855 and, as such, have an endless supply of desirable properties to ogle.

Depending on your mood, you can simply search for an area to explore such as a county, or country if you’re feeling continental, and choose to filter by highest price first. Savills do also sell properties in the lower price bracket, however it has to be the properties selling for millions, or the ones that are “price on application” which often wow.

Their website has great photos and floor plans, although you can’t switch between the two in different tabs on the website, making it trickier to spend your millions!

WowHaus

WowHaus is a fascinating blog which brings together architecturally interesting, mainly 20th-Century properties currently on the market across the UK and the world. Often bringing to attention locally listed properties which wouldn’t otherwise make headlines, they give an appraisal for each property and have a fondness for those properties that still have all of their period features, no doubt destined to be ripped out by an uncouth new owner.

Also check out their festival list of affordable gifts for architecture lovers. Updated each year, there are some great recommendations collated into one handy blog post.
